About Me
My passion and love for the live event industry started when I was 11 years old and began to DJ and mix music. It sounds like a typical start, although my knowledge and experience go far beyond that. When I was in high school, I ventured into the theater world and learned all about how a show is produced. Shortly after enrolling into the theatre program, I was employed by the school district to manage events in all four theaters. I designed dozens of theatrical productions and events.
By the time I turned 17, I started working for a local event production company, Band-Ayd Events Group, as a Event Technician. I was quickly promoted to the Lead Designer and Operations Manager, handling clients as big as the Detroit Lions, Michigan State University, and Detroit Pistons. At Band-Ayd, I handled the event operations including warehouse preparations, load-ins, and loadouts. I oversaw a team of employees and managed schedules and logistics. In addition, I designed lighting and special effects for pre-game and halftime shows, player introductions, concerts, theatrical dance shows/competitions, ice skating shows, and weddings.
After leaving Band-Ayd in 2016, a non-compete and non-disclosure agreement was enforced. Throughout the next few years, I remained engaged and followed industry updates while improving my business expertise.
In 2021, I returned to the industry and began freelancing as a Production Manager and Lighting Designer/Operator for local venues in the Detroit area. I remain freelancing in 1000 + capacity rooms. I have a thorough understanding of the lighting plots in the venues to be able to assist and work with national tours. I regularly program and design lighting show files for events. In addition, I consult with venues and provide routine maintenance to lighting plots.
In 2022, I was offered a Production Manager position with another local production company, AV7 Productions. While at AV7, I implemented new methods that drastically improved the workflow of how the company manages events and shows. I oversaw the advancing of all shows and acted as the liaison between talent buyers/promoters and tour crews. Improving client relations was also a top priority, in which I was very successful at. I also managed the warehouse operations and crew/equipment scheduling.
Today I continue to freelance working on a variety of projects and making a client's vision become reality.
